Metal
Oxides

Metal oxides, as well as their hydroxide, oxyhydroxide and hydrated oxide cousins are strong, robust materials that are both naturally present (e.g. rust), as well as manufactured industrially. Metal oxides are one of the most important and widely characterised solid catalysts. The nano form of these materials can exhibit advantageous properties over their bulk counterparts, depending on their specific application.

High surface area to volume ratios facilitate lower active concentrations in applications where performance is related to surface characteristics, such as catalysis and adsorption. Promethean Particles’ synthesis process provides small particle sizes with minimised aggregation — especially compared to dry powder technologies. This makes our metal oxide products great choices for downstream product formulation. The use of continuous hydrothermal synthesis provides the potential to control particle size, size distribution and morphology, all at more efficient economies of scale.
