Promethean Grow Mo’s for Charity
This November, the technical team at Promethean Particles decided to take part in Movember to raise money and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer and mental health. Movember aims to “change the face of men’s health and reverse this way of thinking by putting a fun twist on this serious issue. Using the moustache as a catalyst, we want to bring about change and give men the opportunity and confidence to learn and talk about their health more openly and take action.”
It wasn’t simply the “Mo Bro’s” in the office taking part, one of our research scientists, Selina, became an honorary “Mo Sista” by sporting a different stick-on or drawn-on moustache every day. During this month, members of the technical team attended a SHYMAN consortium meeting in Prague; however, partners in the consortium expressed support for the cause and even complimented some of the team on their ‘taches.
In total, Promethean managed to raise £584 that will help to fund a range of programmes that the organisers hope will have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health. Movember 13 has so far raised £64,754,454 globally. Dr Pete Gooden, technical manager at Promethean Particles, said “We would like to thank all those who have generously given donations and support for such a worthy cause.”
